once it was dark

and i wandered alone

lost in the void.

but one day

a bright light shone down

from heaven

momentarily blinding me.

i staggered

this way and that

unable to see.

the darkness

twisted and whirled

in front of my eyes.

and when i could

open them

shielding my eyes

i made out

a beautiful angel

standing before me.

she held out her arms

to me

and i was drawn to her

almost against

my will.

her embrace filled me

with love

warmth

and security

and i knew from then

i would be okay

forever.

forever.

and when i looked

into her face

into her eyes

into your eyes

i found myself home.

at home

at last

with you.
